NPFL: Bayelsa United stun Shooting Stars with 1-0 Away win
Bayelsa United started their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season on a positive note with a 1-0 win over Shooting Stars in Ibadan on Sunday. Kehinde Lawal’s 30th-minute goal was enough to seal the victory in the matchday one encounter.
Warri Wolves also recorded an impressive away result, defeating Katsina United 1-0 at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.
Nine-time league champions Enyimba were held to a frustrating goalless draw by newly promoted Barau FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, while Rangers also had to settle for a 0-0 draw against Kun Khalifat.
In Maiduguri, El-Kanemi Warriors began their campaign strongly with a 2-0 win over Bendel Insurance, while Kwara United and Ikorodu City played out a goalless draw in Ilorin.
