NUJ national president receives exco members of Crime Reporters Global
The NUJ National President, Comrade Alhassan Yahya-Abdullahi, received in audience at the NUJ National Secretariat, Abuja, selected Executive members of Crime Reporters Global, Nigeria, who came from across the country to congratulate him on his assumption of office as the President of Journalists, of the most populous black nation in the world.
In his speech, the Secretary General of the Association, Comrade Barth Ikiebe said “We, selected Exco members of the Crime Reporters Global, Nigeria, have come to say congratulations to you Mr President, to wish you well and seek enhanced working relationship with the NUJ our parent body”. He said; saying that the Association shall do all it can to partner the new administration of Alhassan Abdullahi Yahya led NUJ administration to succeed.
In his remarks, the NUJ National President, Comrade Abdullahi Yahya, thanked the Executives of Crime Reporters Global Nigeria for their visit, saying that the synergy existing between the NUJ and Crime Reporters Global shall be enhanced during his administration.
The NUJ President charged the Crime Reporters to always try to maintain standards and ethics of the media profession, pointing out that, investigative journalism which is not an easy area of the practice should be resuscitated. He maintained that only professionals that are very patient can achieve good results in the job.
The NUJ National President warned journalists, Online and Social media influencers that, the Cyber Crime act has come to stay, and all should endeavour to entrench discipline and credibility while discharging their duties but without fear or favour.
Present during the visit include the NUJ National President, Comrade Alhassan Yahya, Chairman Crime Reporters Global Nigeria, Comrade Tita Onyebuchi Nze, Secretary General, Comrade Barth Ikiebe, Director Projects, Amb. Samuel Eniola and Lady Ego.END
