Osimhen transfer saga deepens as Napoli rejects Galatasaray’s third bid

The ongoing transfer saga surrounding Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has taken a fresh twist, as reports confirm that Napoli has rejected a third bid from Turkish giants Galatasaray for the Nigerian international.

This latest development comes amid accusations from Osimhen’s camp that the Italian club is deliberately trying to push the player towards a move to Saudi Arabian side, Al Hilal.

According to Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba, who has been following the situation closely, Galatasaray’s recent offer sought to activate Osimhen’s €75 million release clause, but proposed staggered payment terms over several years. Napoli reportedly turned down the offer, insisting on a lump sum payment that would immediately meet their financial expectations. Top transfer reporters Gianluca Di Marzio and Nicolo Schira also corroborated the story, confirming that Napoli is demanding bank guarantees before considering the Turkish club’s offer.

Laba alleged that the Serie A champions are intentionally frustrating Galatasaray’s deal because they prefer Al Hilal’s offer, which promises the full €75 million payment upfront. Despite the lucrative Saudi proposal, Osimhen has firmly rejected the idea of moving to the Middle East and remains adamant about joining Galatasaray.

Further reports indicate that Osimhen has informed Napoli of his unwillingness to return for pre-season training and has no intention of playing for the club again, even though he remains under contract until June 2026. The situation grows more tense as Osimhen’s €75 million release clause is set to expire on Tuesday, July 15. If no agreement is reached before then, Napoli will be free to demand a new fee for the Nigerian striker, potentially dragging the transfer saga even further.

For now, fans of the Super Eagles star await to see if Galatasaray can meet Napoli’s terms or if Osimhen’s future will take an unexpected turn in the final hours of his release clause’s validity.
