Rivers Angels dismiss allegations of Referee bias following convincing 6-0 triumph over Adamawa Queens
Nigeria Women’s Football League side, Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt, has vowed to file an official complaint with the league body following allegations made by Adamawa Queens’ technical adviser, Dadeino Herman.
The Jewel of Rivers defeated Adamawa Queens 6-0 in a NWFL matchday six encounter on Wednesday. However, Coach Herman alleged that Rivers Angels used referees to secure an unfair advantage in the match.
Rivers Angels in a statement dismissed these claims as baseless and unacceptable. The club expressed disbelief that Herman, while acknowledging the quality of Rivers Angels’ players, chose to focus on unfounded accusations instead.
The club further stated that Herman’s allegations against the match commissioner and the centre referee were serious and warranted the league’s attention and called on the NWFL to investigate the matter thoroughly and take appropriate action.
