BREAKING: Rivers Assembly halts impeachment of Gov. Fubara, Deputy Odu
The Rivers State House of Assembly has suspended impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu following intervention by President Bola Tinubu.
The decision was adopted on Thursday during the Assembly’s resumed plenary in Port Harcourt.
Earlier this year, the House had initiated the impeachment process against the governor and his deputy over allegations of gross misconduct, including the demolition of the State Assembly complex and spending without legislative approval.
The suspension signals a pause in the political crisis, with details of any further developments expected to emerge in the coming days.
