Timileyin Ajayi denies guilt, pleads not guilty to murder allegations

At a hearing held at the High Court in Lafia on Monday, Timileyin Ajayi, 32, denied the allegations of murdering and dismembering Salome Adaidu, a youth corps member in Nasarawa State, by pleading not guilty.
Earlier in the proceedings, he initially pleaded guilty before Justice Simon Aboki of the Nasarawa State High Court. However, after consulting with his lawyer, he reversed his plea to not guilty.
On March 10, 2025, the Nasarawa State Government officially took over the prosecution of the case. As the trial commenced, the prosecution presented four witnesses to testify before the court.
