APC’S Omosede Igbinedion wins Ovia Federal Constituency seat
In Edo State, the All Progressives Congress has recorded another major victory, this time in the Ovia Federal Constituency by-election.
Barrister Omosede Gabriella Igbinedion was declared winner by the Returning Officer, Professor Clement Ighodalo, under the supervision of INEC, after securing a commanding 17,093 votes.
Her closest rival, Ikponmwosa Aikpitanyi of the Peoples Democratic Party, polled 3,283 votes. Other parties trailed far behind, with ADC recording 915, NNPP 214, PRP 45, and SDP 25 votes, while several smaller parties barely registered.
Following the confirmation of results, Professor Ighodalo declared Omosede Igbinedion the duly elected Member of the House of Representatives for Ovia Federal Constituency — a result that sparked jubilation within the APC family and brought weeks of intense campaigning to a close.
