Fenerbahce fires manager Jose Mourinho
Turkish giants Fenerbahce have dismissed Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho just two days after their elimination from the Champions League playoffs by Benfica.
The club announced the decision in a statement on Friday, confirming the end of Mourinho’s tenure, which began at the start of the 2024–2025 season.
“We are parting ways with Jose Mourinho, manager of our professional A team since the 2024-2025 season,” the statement read.
Mourinho, who joined Fenerbahce amid high expectations, failed to guide the team into the Champions League group stage, leading to growing pressure on his position before the club opted to terminate his contract.
