FAAC disburses N2.1 Trillion revenue to Federal, State, LGs for September 2025
The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has distributed a total sum of N2.103 trillion as revenue for September 2025 to the Federal, State, and Local Governments during its October meeting held in Abuja.
According to the communiqué released after the meeting, the total distributable revenue comprised N1.239 trillion from statutory revenue, N812.593 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), and N51.684 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).
FAAC reported that the total gross revenue available in September 2025 was N3.054 trillion. Out of this amount, N116.149 billion was deducted for the cost of collection, while N835.005 billion was set aside for transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings.
The communiqué indicated that gross statutory revenue for the month stood at N2.128 trillion, representing a decrease of N710.134 billion compared to the N2.838 trillion recorded in August 2025. However, VAT collections rose significantly, with N872.630 billion recorded in September—an increase of N150.011 billion from N722.619 billion in August.
In a statement issued on Friday by Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, it was disclosed that from the N2.103 trillion total distributable revenue, the Federal Government received N711.314 billion, while the State Governments received N727.170 billion. The Local Government Councils got N529.954 billion, and N134.956 billion (representing 13% of mineral revenue) was shared with oil-producing states as derivation.
From the N1.239 trillion statutory revenue, the Federal Government received N581.672 billion, the States N295.032 billion, and the Local Governments N227.457 billion, while N134.956 billion went to oil-producing states as derivation.
From the N812.593 billion VAT revenue, the Federal Government collected N121.889 billion, the States N406.297 billion, and the Local Governments N284.408 billion.
Similarly, from the N51.684 billion EMTL, the Federal Government received N7.753 billion, the States N25.842 billion, and the Local Governments N18.089 billion.
FAAC noted that in September 2025, Import Duty, VAT, and EMTL recorded significant increases, while Companies Income Tax (CIT) and Common External Tariff (CET) Levies dropped sharply. Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) rose marginally, while Oil and Gas Royalty and Excise Duty experienced slight declines.
