Nigerian Army publishes names of shortlisted candidates for SSC programme
The Nigerian Army has announced the release of the list of shortlisted candidates for its Short Service Combatant (SSC) Course, marking a key step in the recruitment process for prospective officers.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Army confirmed that the names have been uploaded on its official recruitment portal, advising applicants to check their status online. The shortlisted candidates are expected to participate in the next phase of screening, which includes medical examinations, physical fitness assessments, and credential verification.
According to the Army, all shortlisted applicants must appear at designated screening centres with their original documents, including educational certificates, birth certificates, and proof of state of origin. Candidates have also been instructed to report in appropriate sportswear and comply with all guidelines provided on the portal.
The military emphasised that the selection process is strictly merit based, warning applicants against engaging with impostors or individuals claiming to influence recruitment outcomes.
The Army reiterated its commitment to transparency and professionalism, noting that successful candidates who complete all stages will proceed to the Nigerian Defence Academy for officer training under the SSC programme.
Applicants are encouraged to regularly check official channels for updates and further instructions.
