Abuja Police arrest four over N150 Million land fraud using FCT Minister’s name
The Abuja Police Command has apprehended four men for allegedly defrauding a retired military officer of N150 million by falsely claiming connections with Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
Reports from Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication covering the Lake Chad region, revealed that one of the suspects, Yashim Kajang, was arrested on Tuesday for duping retired Major General A. K. Ibrahim and others. Kajang allegedly told the victims he worked with the FCT minister and the director of lands, collecting over N150 million to deliver land documents for plot 1985 in Guzape II, spanning three hectares, as well as other plots.
During interrogation, Kajang implicated Stephen Mhambe and Danladi Jatau, both affiliated with the urban and regional planning department of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCDA), along with Terngu Ipaven of Durumi 2, Abuja, as accomplices.
Kajang admitted that the trio provided data and information on lands used to carry out the alleged scheme. The four suspects remain under investigation as authorities probe the case.
