NNPCL: No issues with our fuel

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) Ltd has strongly refuted claims circulating in a viral video suggesting that its fuel does not last long, describing the allegations as baseless and misleading.
Olufemi Soneye, the company’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, dismissed the video, stating that it was based on unverified and amateur research, lacking credibility or professional backing.
“Our fuel is carefully formulated with one of the best compositions to ensure maximum efficiency, durability, and environmental sustainability,” Soneye asserted.
NNPCL further clarified that a significant portion of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) sold at its retail stations in Lagos—where the video originated—is sourced from the Dangote Refinery, a key partner in enhancing local production and energy security. According to the company, the Dangote Refinery adheres to strict industry standards, ensuring the quality of its petroleum products.
“This video is simply another attempt by economic saboteurs to mislead the public and tarnish the reputation of NNPC Ltd,” the company stated. “We will not tolerate deliberate misinformation aimed at undermining our operations and misleading Nigerians.”
NNPCL also warned that it would pursue legal action against individuals found to be spreading falsehoods about the company and its products.
The company urged Nigerians to disregard such misleading content and rely on credible sources for accurate information. “NNPC Ltd remains committed to ensuring fuel availability, affordability, and quality for all Nigerians while upholding global industry standards,” the statement concluded.
