FG Automates Academic Certificate Evaluation, Authentication, Ends Physical Visits

The Federal Ministry of Education has announced the full automation of academic certificate evaluation and authentication, ending the need for applicants to visit its offices physically to access the services.

The ministry said the new system would allow applicants to complete the entire credential evaluation and authentication process online through its dedicated digital platform.

The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, described the initiative as a major step in the Federal Government’s digital transformation drive and part of the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, Alausa said the reform was designed to make the certificate evaluation and authentication process faster, more transparent and accessible.

“Under the new system, applicants can complete the entire credential evaluation and authentication process online through the ministry’s dedicated platform,” the statement said.

According to the ministry, the digital process is expected to reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks, shorten processing times and provide more convenient services to Nigerians and applicants residing outside the country.

Alausa said the initiative would also strengthen the integrity and credibility of Nigeria’s academic certification system.

The minister added that institutions, employers and other relevant stakeholders would be able to verify academic qualifications through a more structured and reliable process.

He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to deploying technology to modernise education governance, improve institutional efficiency and provide more citizen-centred services.

Applicants seeking credential evaluation and authentication have been advised to use the ministry’s official online platform.

The ministry said enquiries regarding the service could also be directed to its designated email address.

The development is expected to ease the burden on applicants who previously had to make physical visits to government offices to process academic credential evaluation and authentication.
