NDC Inaugurates New National Secretariat in Abuja Ahead of 2027 Elections
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has inaugurated its newly acquired national secretariat in Jabi, Abuja, as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The facility was unveiled shortly after an emergency meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), marking a significant step in its efforts to strengthen its organisational structure and establish a permanent administrative base in the Federal Capital Territory.
The new secretariat is expected to serve as the party’s national administrative headquarters and a strategic centre for coordinating its activities, improving communication among state chapters and mobilising supporters across the country.
It is also expected to play a central role in coordinating the NDC’s presidential campaign and managing other electoral activities as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
Speaking at the inauguration, the party’s National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, described the newly acquired facility as the NDC’s “Noah’s Ark” ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dickson congratulated party members and supporters on the acquisition, describing the secretariat as a unifying centre that would provide a befitting home for the party’s growing membership.
The inauguration was attended by the party’s National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas; Dickson; and Senator Victor Umeh, who represents Anambra Central in the National Assembly.
Also present was the NDC’s Rivers State governorship candidate, Dumo Lulu-Briggs, alongside other party leaders and members.
The acquisition comes as the NDC seeks to consolidate its national structures and position itself as an alternative political platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.
With the new secretariat in place, the party is expected to strengthen coordination between its national leadership and state chapters while organising its campaign and other political activities nationwide.
