Liverpool’s Champions League dreams shattered by PSG in penalty shootout

Liverpool’s Champions League dreams were shattered as they fell to Paris Saint-Germain in a dramatic penalty shootout, losing 4-1 after a 1-1 aggregate draw.
PSG’s Ousmane Dembélé scored early, setting the stage for a thrilling comeback. Despite a fierce battle, the tie remained level after extra time, leading to the decisive shootout where Gianluigi Donnarumma’s saves sealed Liverpool’s fate.
The Parisians’ overall victory over the two legs was fully deserved, with goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma emerging as the hero in the penalty shootout, saving efforts from both Darwin Núñez and Curtis Jones.
Liverpool will now have to regroup quickly, with their Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United at Wembley just days away.
