NPFL fines Nasarawa United ₦6m over security lapses
Nasarawa United of Lafia have been fined a total of six million naira by the Nigeria Premier Football League for failing to provide adequate and effective security during their match against Plateau United on Sunday.
The club received a fine of one million naira each for inadequate security arrangements and for failing to control the conduct of their supporters.
An additional fine of three million naira was imposed for repeated breaches of the NPFL Framework and Rules, while another one million naira was levied to cover medical expenses and compensation for Plateau United player Vincent Temitope, who sustained bodily harm.
Nasarawa United have also been instructed to identify the individual responsible for the assault on Temitope and provide evidence of legal prosecution.
As part of the sanctions, the club has been banished to the Pantami Stadium in Gombe, where they will play their remaining home fixtures for the rest of the season.
