All South-East Governors are with Tinubu, says Umahi
Minister of Works and former Ebonyi State Governor, Senator David Umahi, has declared that all governors from Nigeria’s South-East region are now firmly in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Umahi made this statement during a courtesy visit to Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, after inspecting federal road projects in the state.
Commending Governor Otti for the quality of federal roads reconstructed by his administration, Umahi praised the long-standing relationship between Tinubu and Otti and acknowledged the President’s commitment to the South-East through ongoing federal projects. “We have every reason as Ndigbo and people of the Southeast, irrespective of party affiliation, to stand with this man who is standing with the Southeast to rewrite our history,” he said.
Umahi expressed satisfaction over Otti’s work on the Port Harcourt Road in Aba, describing it as “mind-blowing” and urging the governor to extend similar intervention to the other carriageway of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway. He noted that his visit was partly to inspect projects ahead of President Tinubu’s planned visit to Abia, where several completed roads would be commissioned.
In response, Governor Otti reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to partner with the Federal Government to improve infrastructure in Abia. He acknowledged President Tinubu’s support and assured that his government would continue collaborating for the benefit of the people, stressing that both federal and state governments ultimately serve the same citizens.
Otti also revealed plans to reschedule the earlier postponed commissioning of the Port Harcourt Road and promised to address the Enugu-Port Harcourt carriageway as requested by Umahi.
