Dangote commends Tinubu’s reforms, pledges climate fund for flood-prone communities
Africa’s richest man and president of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has openly praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold leadership and infrastructural strides in Lagos State and across Nigeria.
In an open letter made public on Wednesday by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, Dangote acknowledged Tinubu’s impact in tackling long-standing environmental challenges in the Victoria Island area, especially the ocean surges and frequent flooding that plagued parts of the city.
He particularly hailed the success of the Bar Beach Land Reclamation project and the Eko Atlantic City initiative, describing them as visionary moves that have transformed the coastline into an investment hub and modern residential district.
Dangote also commended the ongoing Lagos-Calabar coastal highway and Sokoto-Badagry superhighway projects, calling them historic developments capable of boosting the country’s road infrastructure and strengthening regional connectivity. He described the Lagos-Calabar highway as a revival of a 48-year-old idea now being realised under Tinubu’s watch.
Recalling similar land reclamation efforts in the Netherlands, Dangote likened Tinubu’s environmental initiatives to global best practices and saluted the president’s foresight. As a mark of support, the business mogul revealed that his foundation would soon launch a climate fund targeted at communities vulnerable to flooding and natural disasters in the country.
Concluding the message, Dangote expressed gratitude for the president’s leadership and prayed for divine guidance and wisdom to sustain his efforts in making Nigeria better for all citizens.
