Arsenal Crush PSV Eindhoven 7-1 to take Commanding lead in Champions League Last-16
Arsenal delivered a historic performance in Eindhoven, thrashing PSV 7-1 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
This emphatic victory marked the Gunners’ biggest away win in the competition’s history and all but secured their place in the quarter-finals.
Jurrien Timber opened the scoring early, followed by goals from Ethan Nwaneri and Mikel Merino, giving Arsenal a 3-1 lead by halftime.
In the second half, Martin Ødegaard scored twice, with Leandro Trossard and Riccardo Calafiori adding to the tally.
Ødegaard’s brilliance and Nwaneri’s record-setting display as one of the youngest scorers in a Champions League knockout stage stood out.
This dominant performance leaves Arsenal poised for a potential clash with either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid in the next round, pending the second leg at the Emirates.
