Aston Villa stage comeback to triumph 2-1 over Chelsea in Premier League encounter

Aston Villa staged an impressive comeback to claim a 2-1 victory against Chelsea, with new signings Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford playing pivotal roles in securing three vital points in their push for European qualification.
Chelsea seized an early lead in the ninth minute when Pedro Neto delivered a superb pass to Enzo Fernández, who skilfully manoeuvred past Emiliano Martínez before finishing with composure.
However, Villa responded with determination, particularly following Rashford’s introduction at the break. The England international set up Asensio, who calmly slotted home from close range to restore parity.
As the match neared its conclusion, Asensio struck again, this time courtesy of another assist from Rashford, sealing a dramatic victory for Villa.
The result lifted Villa to seventh place in the table, just one point adrift of Chelsea and two points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
