Bildup launches ‘AI in Every Classroom’ initiative to revolutionise learning in Nigeria

…targets 10 million students in five years
A Nigerian technology firm, Bildup AI, has unveiled its groundbreaking initiative, ‘AI in Every Classroom’, aimed at transforming learning across the country through artificial intelligence.
The innovation, powered by AI, is designed to personalise education by adapting to each student’s proficiency level, learning pace, and individual style.
Speaking at the formal adoption of the initiative by Adorable British College, Enugu, over the weekend, Chief Executive Officer of Bildup AI, Mr Chibuike Aguene, said the project has the potential to reshape Nigeria’s education sector.
“This initiative presents an extraordinary opportunity for school owners, state education ministries, parents, and policymakers to collaborate in reshaping education nationwide,” Mr Aguene said. “By embracing Bildup AI, stakeholders can ensure that every child, regardless of background, has access to quality, barrier-free learning.”
According to him, the programme is projected to empower one million students within the next 12 months, and 10 million over the next five years, by making quality education more accessible through personalised learning.
Adorable British College, Enugu, has become the first school in Nigeria to formally integrate Bildup AI into its teaching and learning process. As part of the rollout, Bildup AI donated tablet devices to the school, bolstering its existing digital infrastructure to ensure a smooth transition for both students and teachers.
“We believe that Nigeria’s young minds have the potential to create future-defining innovations,” Mr Aguene said. “AI allows us to break down existing barriers and provide every child with equal access to world-class education. To support this vision, we are committing ₦500 million over the next 12 months to assist schools nationwide in adopting AI-powered learning.”
He also revealed that Bildup AI would be investing heavily in research and development to enhance its features, ensuring full curriculum coverage with strong local context and global relevance.
Addressing concerns in some quarters that AI may replace teachers or encourage laziness among students, Mr Aguene clarified that the platform is designed to support, not supplant, educators.
“Bildup AI is an intelligent and adaptive tutor that delivers truly personalised learning,” he said. “For years, educators have sought effective ways to cater to the individual needs of learners. AI now makes that possible, and Bildup AI brings it to reality, offering each student the equivalent of the world’s best teacher, accessible anytime and anywhere.”
“Importantly, Bildup AI will not replace teachers. Instead, it will empower them. Educators can reclaim up to 80 per cent of their time, enabling them to focus more on mentorship, critical thinking, and deeper engagement with pupils. The system also provides intelligent feedback on individual students, allowing teachers to tailor their approach accordingly.”
Mr Aguene described the initiative as more than just a technological advancement, it is a movement to redefine education in Nigeria and across Africa.
“Today marks a historic moment not just for Bildup AI and Adorable British College, but for the Nigerian education system as a whole,” he remarked. “This partnership is proof that Nigeria can lead in technological innovation that addresses our unique educational challenges.”
He added that the launch in Enugu is only the beginning of a wider rollout aimed at making AI-powered education the standard across the country.
