Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin, the outgoing spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, has been appointed as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), succeeding Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who has been redeployed to Delta State Police Command to oversee operations.

According to police authorities, the redeployment is part of routine administrative changes aimed at career development and manpower optimization, stressing that it is neither punitive nor controversial.

Hundeyin, a seasoned communicator with extensive security and strategic communication experience, holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He has also undergone specialized training in Civil-Military Coordination at the Nigerian Army Leadership Institute in Jaji and is a member of several professional organizations, including the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), International Public Relations Association, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN).

His career includes international service with the United Nations–African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), where he developed expertise in peacekeeping and crisis communication. Since March 2022, he has served as the spokesperson for the Lagos Police Command, where he gained recognition for his proactive engagement with the media and the public, succeeding former Lagos PRO, DSP Adekunle Ajisebutu.

As the new national police spokesperson, CSP Hundeyin is expected to lead the Force’s communication strategies, promote transparency, and strengthen public trust through effective messaging and crisis management. The transition will take effect in the coming days after an official handover ceremony at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
