BREAKING: FG arraigns Ozekhome over alleged fake Passport use
The Federal Government has arraigned Mike Ozekhome (SAN) for allegedly using a fake Nigerian passport in connection with a disputed property case in the United Kingdom.
Mike Ozekhome was docked alongside Ponfa Useni before Justice Chizoba Oji of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama on Friday on a 12-count charge.
Both defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charges after which their counsel — Tayo Oyetibo (SAN) for Ozekhome and F.R. Onoja for Useni — applied for bail. Rotimi Oyedepo, who appeared for the prosecution, did not oppose the applications.
In her ruling, Justice Oji granted bail to the defendants in the sum of N10 million each with one surety in like sum.
The court ordered that the sureties must own landed property within the FCT, while the defendants were also directed to deposit their international passports with the court.
The case relates to allegations that Ozekhome used a fake Nigerian passport in a property dispute in the United Kingdom.
