Davido, Chioma set for $3.7m White Wedding in Miami

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that preparations for his highly anticipated white wedding to wife Chioma Adeleke have already cost about $3.7 million in cash.
“We’ve spent $3.7 million in cash. So, you should know what we are doing. It’s going to be crazy,” the 32-year-old singer said in a video shared on Instagram by fellow artiste Teni.
The couple, who arrived in Miami earlier this week aboard a private jet decorated with flowers and a “MRS” chair tag for Chioma, kicked off celebrations with a glamorous pre-wedding party. Davido sported a white hat, blue suit jacket, white trousers, and an Ankara fabric draped over his shoulders, while Chioma dazzled in a short white gown. Guests were welcomed with a bold “Chivido. Miami. 2025” backdrop, adding to the upscale ambience.
Notable Nigerian entertainers spotted at the event included Zlatan Ibile, Teniola Apata, Adekunle Gold, Tunde Ednut, and Poco Lee, alongside members of Davido’s family such as cousin and singer B-Red. Tunde Ednut confirmed that the Miami wedding, initially planned for August, will now hold this weekend.
This will be the third wedding ceremony for the couple — following their court wedding in March 2023 and a lavish traditional wedding in Lagos in June 2024 attended by politicians, celebrities, and dignitaries, including top government officials. Among the expected high-profile guests in Miami is Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle.
Davido and Chioma’s love story began over a decade ago at Babcock University, becoming public in 2018 when he released the hit single Assurance in her honour, later followed by 1 Milli, reaffirming his commitment to marry her. Their relationship weathered public challenges, including a brief split in 2021 and the tragic loss of their first son, Ifeanyi, in 2022. The couple welcomed twins in October 2023 in the United States.
Davido has often said that meeting Chioma before his fame and fortune was key to his decision to settle down, noting in a 2024 interview that had they met after his success, he “might never have married.”
The upcoming Miami ceremony is expected to be a grand, star-studded affair, marking yet another milestone in one of Nigeria’s most followed celebrity love stories.
