Former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong and defender Ola Aina have sent messages of support to the Super Eagles as the team prepares for its Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final encounter.
The players, in separate messages shared via their social media platforms, expressed confidence in the squad and urged the team to remain focused as they chase a place in the final of the tournament.
Troost-Ekong praised the resilience and discipline shown by the Super Eagles so far in the competition, saying the team has what it takes to go all the way. He encouraged the players to give their best and make the nation proud.
Aina also rallied support for the team, calling on Nigerians at home and abroad to stand firmly behind the players. He said the squad’s unity and determination have been key to their progress in the tournament.
The Super Eagles reached the semi-final stage after recording an impressive run in the competition and will be aiming to secure a spot in the final when they take to the pitch for the crucial tie.
