FEC extends Ramadan greetings to Muslim Faithful
In a message released on 1st March 2025, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, on behalf of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), conveyed warm greetings to Nigeria’s Muslim community as the crescent moon signalled the onset of Ramadan.
Senator Akume encouraged the faithful to view the month as a vital opportunity for introspection and spiritual renewal. He stressed the significance of core values such as piety, steadfastness, love, charity, and sacrifice, all of which are central to the teachings of the Qur’an and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The message also underscored the importance of engaging with government-led initiatives. Citing the interventions of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the statement highlighted measures aimed at enhancing food security, reducing poverty, stimulating economic growth, creating job opportunities, improving access to capital, bolstering security, and empowering Nigeria’s youth.
Concluding his address, the Secretary to the Government wished the Muslim faithful a blessed Ramadan, urging them to embrace this period of reflection and rejuvenation.
