Femi Soneye steps down as NNPC’s spokesman to focus on family, personal life

Femi Soneye has resigned from his role as the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd).
He announced his decision in a Facebook post, explaining that he is stepping down to spend more time with his family and to take care of personal matters that need his attention.LP
Mr Soneye, a respected media professional, thanked NNPC Ltd for the opportunity to serve the organisation and the country during what he described as a time of transformation for the company.
Reflecting on his time at NNPC Ltd, he said it had been an honour to help shape the company’s story and contribute to its progress. He also thanked journalists and colleagues for their support, professionalism, and commitment over the past 20 months.
Although he is leaving his official position, Mr Soneye said he remains a strong supporter of NNPC Ltd and will continue to act as an ambassador for the company. He encouraged journalists covering NNPC to maintain balanced and constructive reporting in support of the company’s important role in Nigeria’s energy sector.
His message reads in part: “I wish to inform you that I have stepped aside from my role as Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd.
“This decision will allow me to devote more time to my family and attend to personal responsibilities that now require my closer presence.
“It has been a profound honour to serve both the Company and our country, and to contribute in my own way to the ongoing transformation of NNPC Ltd.
“I remain a steadfast supporter and ambassador of NNPC Ltd wherever I go.”
