As part of efforts to recognise impactful grassroots initiatives, the Federal Government has commended Ebi Bellas, a prominent fashion and empowerment enterprise, for its enduring commitment to uplifting women and fostering entrepreneurship in Rivers State. The commendation comes as the brand celebrates 17 years of meaningful service and innovation in the empowerment space.

The anniversary event, themed “Stitches to Spotlight,” is scheduled to be held on Saturday, 14th June 2025, at the Viczaac Multipurpose Hall, adjacent to the NNPC Filling Station along NTA Road in Port Harcourt. Highlights of the celebration include customer appreciation, award presentations, a fashion runway, and a creative exhibition. Entry is free and open to the public upon registration.

Officials from the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment have hailed the Chief Executive Officer of Ebi Bellas for driving numerous initiatives aimed at empowering women, especially through skills training and job creation schemes. The brand’s collaboration with the Rivers State Government on several women-focused and youth-targeted programmes further demonstrates its role in advancing economic inclusion and capacity building at the community level.

The event is set to host a blend of entertainment and enterprise, with performances by MC Obakporo and MC Okon, a special appearance by Lady J of Wazobia FM, and a keynote address by Dr Festus Erewele, CEO of Excel & Grace Kapital. Their presence highlights the synergy between business, public engagement, and creative industries.

Over the years, Ebi Bellas has earned a reputation for excellence in fashion and entrepreneurship, empowering countless women with skills that translate into economic opportunities and sustainable livelihoods.

In recognising her efforts, the Federal Government reaffirmed its support for local entrepreneurs whose work aligns with national development goals, particularly in advancing gender equality and inclusive economic growth. The “Stitches to Spotlight” initiative stands as a compelling example of how homegrown enterprises can spark positive social change and contribute meaningfully to national progress.
