Gaufc, Rovers of Calabar share points in Uyo thriller
Gaufc and Rovers FC of Calabar played out a thrilling draw at the Uyo Township Stadium as both sides settled for a point apiece in a keenly contested encounter.
Nsikak Moses opened the scoring for Gaufc in the 17th minute with a brilliant strike from outside the box, giving the home fans early excitement.
However, Rovers responded after the break through Tony Ayang, who found the equaliser to bring the visitors back into the game.
Substitute Samuel Jackson later restored Gaufc’s lead, heading home a well-delivered cross from Samuel Bassey.
But the advantage didn’t last long, as Abdusalami Yusuf struck late for Rovers to ensure the spoils were shared.
The result pushes Gaufc’s total points for the season to sixteen, as both teams continue their fight for higher positions in the league.
