Gov. Bago distributes vehicles to management staff of Akum
Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has donated vehicles to the management staff of the Abdulkadir Kure University Minna (AKUM).
The Farmer Governor presented the vehicles at the Niger State liaison office, Abuja.
He said the donation was necessary to ease their movements and encourage them to be more committed to their duties.
“What we are doing here is to give support to the academia, and by the grace of God, the welfare of our lecturers and the staff will not be compromised; we are going to make you one of the best universities in Nigeria,” he said.
The Farmer Governor congratulated them and reminded them of the need to redouble their efforts in making the university great, especially with the presence of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai and the newly approved Abdulsalami Abubakar University of Agriculture and Climate Action Mokwa.
The Pro-Chancellor of AKUM, Prof. Mohammed Kuta Yahaya, appreciated the Farmer Governor for the gesture.
He also applauded his continuous support to AKUM, which he noted has increased the number of students seeking admission to the institution.
“Abdulkadir Kure University today is unarguably one of the leading state universities in Nigeria by attraction to students.
“We are deeply honoured for this. Your dream of expanding access to education is a reality, and your contributions to human capital development are legendary,” he said.
