Gov. Bago welcomes Chinese investors to Rabba for agro-processing project
As part of the New Niger agenda, Governor Umaru Bago has opened the doors to Chinese investors interested in establishing agro-processing industries in Rabba, a community in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State.
On July 16, 2025, the Niger State Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Alhaji Aminu Takuma, led the visiting investors on a tour of Rabba.
The visit started with a courtesy meeting with the Ndashi of Rabba, Engr. Alhaji Umaru Tswako, where the commissioner asked for the community’s support for the planned project.
Alhaji Takuma assured the traditional ruler that Governor Bago is determined to make Rabba one of the key beneficiaries of the agro-industrial plan.
He was accompanied by Mr. Yomi, Chairman of the Niger State Special Agro-Processing Zone (SAPZ), and Hon. Zakariyau Rabba, Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
While addressing community elders and leaders, the commissioner explained the expected benefits of the project, which include steady electricity, better road networks, job creation, and improved economic activities for the people of Rabba.
In his response, the Ndashi of Rabba pledged full community support and appointed representatives to join the inspection team.
The delegation later visited various possible project sites, such as large farmlands, the banks of the River Niger, and the former Sunflag Agro Nigeria Limited facility.
The Chinese investors, satisfied with the location and available resources, showed strong interest and promised to begin work once all necessary government approvals are completed.
