Governor Namadi urges generosity, prayers during Ramadan

Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has called on well-meaning individuals to embrace generosity and offer prayers during the holy month of Ramadan. In a message conveyed through his Special Assistant on New Media, Garba Muhammad, the governor extended his warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah as they embark on this sacred period of fasting and reflection. He urged citizens to embody the true essence of Ramadan by showing kindness to those in need and praying for peace and prosperity in Jigawa State and across Nigeria.
Emphasising the importance of charity, Governor Namadi reminded the people that even the smallest act of giving can make a meaningful difference. “Ramadan is a time for worship and self-reflection, but it is also a season of kindness and generosity,” he stated.
He encouraged communities to come together in supporting the less privileged, noting that unity in difficult times strengthens societal bonds.
As part of his administration’s efforts, the governor reaffirmed the government’s commitment to alleviating hardship through a statewide Ramadan feeding programme. He disclosed that all food items for the initiative would be sourced from local markets within each community, a move designed to stimulate economic activities and create income opportunities for traders and farmers. “By purchasing locally, we are not only feeding the needy but also empowering our traders and farmers,” he explained.
Governor Namadi further stressed the importance of continuous prayers for peace and a brighter future for both the state and the nation, expressing hope that this Ramadan will bring blessings, forgiveness, and renewed strength for all.
