Kaduna Police disown viral uniformed man over inciting comments on Uromi killings

The Kaduna State Police Command has disassociated itself from a viral social media post featuring one Hadaina Hussaini, popularly known as Dan-taki, who was seen dressed in police uniform while allegedly making provocative comments about the recent Uromi killings.
In a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, it was clarified that Hussaini is not a serving officer of the Nigeria Police Force and has no current ties with the Kaduna State Police Command.
According to Hassan, the individual was once a member of the Police Special Constabulary — a voluntary unit — but was dismissed two years ago for misconduct and questionable character.
He noted that the photos of Hussaini in police attire being circulated online were taken before his dismissal and bore the tag ‘PSC/KD’, signifying his former affiliation with the Special Constabulary, not the regular force.
Hussaini has since been arrested, and the police confirmed he will be charged in court once preliminary investigations are completed, in accordance with the law.
The Kaduna State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism and warned against the spread of hate speech or inciting statements that could disrupt public peace.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Rabi’u Muhammad, urged citizens to remain calm and vigilant, while continuing to report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
