Majority of current officials were once critics of Tinubu — Daniel Bwala
Presidential aide Daniel Bwala says more than 70 per cent of President Bola Tinubu’s current appointees were once his critics before he won the 2023 presidential election.
Bwala, who spoke while addressing questions on political loyalty in the administration, stated that many of those now occupying key positions did not support Tinubu during the campaign. He said the president deliberately assembled an inclusive team to unite different political interests across the country.
According to him, Tinubu’s decision reflects his belief in competence over past political disagreements, stressing that the president is more focused on performance and national priorities than on former political battles.
Bwala explained that bringing former opponents into government is part of a broader effort to strengthen national cohesion and ensure the government benefits from diverse ideas and experiences.
He insisted that the administration remains firmly committed to its reform agenda and urged Nigerians to judge the government by its results rather than by previous political divisions.
