Manchester City’s Champions League hopes dented after Brighton snatch 2-2 draw

Manchester City’s Champions League qualification hopes suffered a setback after a 2-2 home draw against Brighton, with Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush scoring for Pep Guardiola’s side before defensive lapses allowed the visitors to equalize twice
Erling Haaland made history, becoming the first player to reach 100 Premier League goal involvements in fewer than 100 games. He marked his 94th appearance in the competition by scoring his 84th goal with an 11th-minute penalty.
The match featured several moments of brilliance, including a stunning equalizer from Pervis Estupinan, who curled a free-kick that struck the post before bouncing into the net.
Omar Marmoush scored a magnificent 20-yard strike into the bottom corner to restore City’s lead before half time.
However, City’s shaky defense let them down again just three minutes after the restart, as Abdukodir Khusanov accidentally diverted Jack Hinshelwood’s shot into his own net, handing Brighton a precious point.
