The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has called for greater cooperation among stakeholders as it prepares for the 2025 Hajj exercise.

The commission expressed concern over recent media exchanges and disagreements that have surfaced, especially at a time when preparations for the pilgrimage are reaching a critical phase.

In a statement issued by Fatima Sanda Usara, NAHCON’s Assistant Director of Information and Publication, the commission acknowledged the challenges but stressed the importance of collaboration to ensure a successful Hajj. NAHCON urged all stakeholders to set aside differences and work together toward the common goal of delivering a smooth and efficient Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims.

The commission also promised to organize a retreat after the 2025 Hajj, where issues of concern will be thoroughly discussed and resolved in an amicable manner. It called on all parties involved to focus on the bigger picture and prioritize the success of the pilgrimage, taking into account the significant financial, emotional, and spiritual investments made by the pilgrims.

In related news, NAHCON announced that Saudi Arabia has set deadlines for Umrah pilgrims ahead of the 2025 Hajj. Those intending to enter the Kingdom for Umrah must do so by April 13, 2025, while those already in the country for Umrah must exit by April 29, 2025, to prepare for the Hajj.

The commission warned that any violation of these deadlines would result in a fine of SR100,000 (100,000 Saudi Riyals) and advised all pilgrims to adhere strictly to the regulations to avoid complications.
