Nigeria Flamingos clinch final qualifying round berth with 5-1 aggregate triumph over South Africa

Nigeria’s Flamingos triumphed with a commanding 5-1 aggregate victory over South Africa in the penultimate round of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, securing their place in the final qualifying round set for next month.
After scoring twice in the first leg, Harmony Chidi added to Nigeria’s lead with a clinical header from a tight angle in the 37th minute, further worsening South Africa’s plight following their 1-3 defeat in the first leg.
Aishat Animashaun also found the back of the net, scoring Nigeria’s second goal in the match, which was played at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.
This victory propelled the Flamingos into the final round of the qualifiers, where they will face the winner of the match between Botswana and Algeria next month.
