NPFL club owners endorse improved insurance package for players, officials

Players and officials in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) are set to benefit from upgraded life and injury insurance schemes, following fresh resolutions reached at an expanded meeting of the league’s Club Owners’ Forum held in Abuja.
In a communiqué signed by the forum’s secretary, Amobi Ezeaku, the meeting unanimously approved key amendments to the NPFL Framework and Rules, with enhanced insurance coverage for players and technical staff topping the agenda.
The forum described the development as a significant milestone aimed at securing the welfare and career protection of those involved in the country’s top-flight football league.
Also discussed was the issue of matchday security, with the forum calling on State Football Associations to step up efforts in ensuring the safety of fans, players, and officials at all league venues. It stressed that the primary responsibility for securing fixtures lies with the respective state bodies.
