NPFL orders Stadium upgrades ahead of 2025/26 Season kickoff
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) board has issued a directive to all participating clubs, mandating them to upgrade key facilities at their home stadiums ahead of the 2025/26 season.
In a statement signed by the league’s Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, the NPFL stressed the importance of clubs installing and maintaining LED floodlights that meet required illuminance standards, especially as the league plans to schedule more night fixtures.
With the new season set to commence in August, the NPFL warned that any club failing to meet the stipulated infrastructure standards would risk being barred from hosting matches at their designated venues. This move comes as part of renewed efforts to raise the standard of facilities across the league, following past incidents where some clubs were banned from using substandard grounds for official matches.
