NUJ FCT Council celebrates Minister Idris on Birthday, commends visionary leadership

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, has extended heartfelt birthday wishes to the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, hailing his tenure as a beacon of visionary leadership and national service.
In a statement signed by the Council Secretary, Comrade Jide Oyekunle, the Union praised the Minister for his unwavering dedication to transparency, credible information dissemination, and the promotion of national unity.
“Your Excellency, your tenure has been marked by a resolute commitment to fostering responsible journalism, combating misinformation, and raising the standards of media practice in Nigeria,” the Council noted.
The NUJ FCT Council commended Minister Idris for championing media freedom, ethical journalism, and constructive engagement with the press, noting that these strides have significantly strengthened the role of the media as a pillar of democracy and national development.
According to the statement, the Minister’s leadership in implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda has inspired confidence across sectors and reinforced the critical role of national orientation in shaping public opinion and promoting social cohesion.
“As journalists at the forefront of national discourse, we deeply appreciate your support for the media fraternity and your efforts to ensure a well-informed and united Nigeria,” the statement read.
The Union offered prayers for the Minister’s continued health, wisdom, and strength, expressing hopes that his vision for a progressive Nigeria would be fully realised.
“Once again, we celebrate you, Honourable Minister, and wish you a very happy birthday filled with joy, peace, and fulfilment,” the Council concluded.
