Rivers Hoopers advance to BAL Playoffs after impressive win over FUS Rabat

Rivers Hoopers have booked their place in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) playoffs scheduled to hold in South Africa this June, following a hard-fought 79–71 victory over FUS Rabat, the hosts of the Kalahari Conference, on Thursday night in Morocco.
The victory also confirmed Al Ittihad’s spot in the playoffs. Al Ittihad remain unbeaten in the group with a 4–0 record, while Rivers Hoopers are close behind with three wins and one loss.
By beating FUS Rabat in both of their head-to-head clashes, the Nigerian champions have secured a higher ranking, even if both teams end the group stage with the same number of wins.
Madut Akec topped the scoring charts with 17 points, while Peter Olisemeka played a key role for the Hoopers by pulling down 12 vital rebounds.
