Soun of Ogbomoso endorses Presidential Economic, Foreign Intervention Councils
The Soun of Ogbomoso, His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, has expressed strong support for the Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC) and the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) during a courtesy visit to their Director-General, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, in Abuja on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Leading a delegation of Ogbomoso traditional rulers, the monarch described the visit as a demonstration of solidarity and endorsement, assuring the DG of the backing of the Ogbomoso traditional institution. He urged Prince Adeyemi to see his appointment as a divine responsibility to serve the nation, especially at a time when President Bola Tinubu’s administration is working to rebuild the country’s economy.
“The position you occupy is not just for you, but for the entire country. You must see it as a call to support this administration in its efforts to grow the Nigerian economy. Be assured that Ogbomoso people, home and abroad, are behind you,” Oba Olaoye said.
Prince Adeyemi expressed appreciation to the monarch and accompanying Obas, pledging to justify the confidence reposed in him by President Tinubu. He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the councils’ mandates through research-driven economic strategies, foreign investment promotion, and policies that position Nigeria as a leading economic force in Africa.
The PEAC functions as a think-tank for the Presidency on economic policy, while the PFIPC focuses on attracting international partnerships and foreign investments. Prince Adeyemi assured that both councils are aligned with the president’s vision to restore investor confidence and strengthen Nigeria’s global economic standing.
The visit was described as a historic show of support for a son of Ogbomoso now playing a key role in national economic development.
