The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, has officially collected the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, on Tuesday in Abuja declared the commencement of the sales of nomination forms and formally presented the documents to Faleke, who is also known as a key figure within the Tinubu Support Groups.

Faleke’s collection of the forms, accompanied by the payment of ₦100 million on behalf of the President, effectively signals the start of Tinubu’s bid for re-election under the ruling party.

The development comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has already released its timetable for the 2027 general elections.

According to Independent National Electoral Commission, the presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled for Saturday, January 16, 2027, while governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will hold on Saturday, February 6, 2027.

INEC also stated that party primaries, including the resolution of disputes arising from them, will take place between April 23 and May 30, 2026.

Campaign activities are expected to officially begin on August 19, 2026 for presidential and National Assembly elections, while governorship and state assembly campaigns will commence on September 9, 2026.

With the formal pickup of the nomination forms, Tinubu’s re-election campaign has now entered its early operational phase, setting the stage for intensified political activities ahead of the 2027 polls.
