UK confirmed as host for 2035 Women’s World Cup
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has announced that the United Kingdom will host the 2035 Women’s World Cup, as it was the only nation to submit a valid bid.
In March, England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland jointly expressed interest in staging the tournament across the home nations.
Under FIFA’s rotation rules, the 2035 edition had to be hosted by either Europe or Africa.
Spain, Portugal, and Morocco had considered a joint bid, but the deadline for submitting expressions of interest passed on Monday, leaving the UK as the sole contender.
Infantino also confirmed that the 2031 Women’s World Cup will be held in the United States, with the competition expanding to 48 teams for the first time.
