President Bola Tinubu arrived in Abuja on Thursday after completing official engagements in Japan and Brazil.
A statement by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that the presidential jet, which departed Brasília International Airport Air Force Base at 12:57 pm local time on Wednesday, touched down in Nigeria early Thursday morning.
During his visit to Japan, Tinubu attended the opening ceremony and plenary of the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) on August 20.
He also held bilateral meetings and engaged with members of the Nigerian community before departing Yokohama for a stopover in Los Angeles, en route to Brazil.
In Brasília, the Nigerian leader met with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and top Brazilian officials. Both presidents held private discussions and witnessed the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding covering aviation, foreign affairs, science and technology, and agriculture, sectors highlighted as central to Nigeria’s development drive.
