BREAKING: Finnish Court sentences Simon Ekpa to Six Years imprisonment over terrorism offences
The Päijät-Häme District Court in Finland has sentenced pro-Biafra agitator Simon Ekpa to six years in prison for terrorism-related offences.
Ekpa was found guilty of inciting terrorism and participating in the activities of a terrorist group.
According to Finnish newspaper YLE, the court said he used his “significant social media following” to fuel unrest in Nigeria’s southeast between August 2021 and November 2024.
The court also ruled that Ekpa was a key member of a militant separatist movement seeking to create a Biafra nation from Nigeria.
Judges further noted that he supplied armed groups with weapons, explosives, and ammunition “through his network of contacts in the region” and actively encouraged his followers on X to commit crimes in Nigeria.
