FAAN temporarily suspends access gate fees at Abuja Airport to ease traffic congestion

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a temporary suspension of all access gate fees at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. This measure, which took effect on 24 January 2025, aims to mitigate the traffic challenges caused by ongoing construction activities on the airport’s road network.
The suspension will remain in place until 7 February 2025, during which road users can navigate the airport’s vicinity without incurring gate charges. The decision is part of FAAN’s efforts to alleviate the inconvenience caused by the construction work and ensure smoother movement for airport road users.
In a statement, FAAN expressed its regret over the inconvenience the construction may have caused and reaffirmed its commitment to providing an improved travel experience for all stakeholders.
“We deeply empathise with the inconvenience caused by the ongoing construction and remain committed to ensuring a smoother travel experience for all road users,” the statement read.
FAAN has called for the cooperation and understanding of the general public during this period.
