Sowore, Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer, Brother regain freedom from Kuje Prison
Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, and activist-politician Omoyele Sowore, have been released from Kuje Prison after meeting their bail conditions.
Also freed on Monday was Prince Emmanuel Kanu, Nnamdi Kanu’s younger brother, along with several others who were detained for participating in the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest held in Abuja.
Sowore, who reportedly led the demonstration, was arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force while attending Kanu’s trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The defendants were arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Kuje Area Council, which granted them bail last Friday.
A video published by SaharaReporters on Monday showed Sowore, Ejimakor, Prince Emmanuel, and other detainees leaving the prison premises with their belongings while chanting a solidarity song.
It was earlier reported that Ejimakor collapsed and was rushed to the Kuje Prison clinic for medical treatment before his release.
