Farmer Bago pledges continued support for Niger’s livestock sector
Niger State Governor, Farmer Umaru Bago, has pledged his continued support for the improvement of the state’s livestock sector
Farmer Bago stated this on Monday while welcoming the Presidential Livestock Reforms Implementation Committee, led by Professor Attahiru Jega, in Minna, the State capital.
During his address, Governor Bago reaffirmed his commitment to improving the livestock industry.
He spoke about the state’s ongoing efforts in areas like genetic improvements, mechanisation, and irrigation to help boost livestock production.
He also highlighted the importance of ensuring a steady supply of animal feed throughout the year and invited the committee to support the state’s initiatives in the sector.
Earlier, Professor Jega, co-chair of the committee, praised the governor for his work, particularly in establishing Ministries for Livestock and Pastoral Affairs.
He stressed that legal frameworks, technology, and investment are key to supporting the growth of the livestock industry in Niger State.
