Cross River Journalists in Abuja, under the umbrella body of Cross River State Journalists Forum (CROSSJOF), will on Tuesday December 2, 2025, honour Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe with the 2025 Excellent Representation Award. This award is designed to encourage lawmakers who have distinguished themselves in representing their constituencies and senatorial districts at the National Assembly.
His dedication to quality legislation, infrastructural development, and constituency outreach has set him apart from others. Sen. Jarigbe was nominated among others, but after a careful screening of the nominees, considering their visibility at the National Assembly, in both chambers, and back home in their senatorial districts and constituencies, Jarigbe came top of the list. He is reportedly the highest rated lawmaker from Cross River State at the National Assembly whose constituents have testified to his good work at home.
He will be receiving the award during the CROSSJOF Day and the launch of Panorama magazine, slated for December 2, 2025 in Abuja.
Meanwhile, Senator John Owan-Enoh, the Minister of State for Industry, Trade, and Investment, will deliver a keynote address on the theme of this year’s CROSSJOF Day: “Human Development: Building the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs in Cross River State.”
A lot of dignitaries are expected to attend the occasion, which will be chaired by Ntufam Hilliard Eta, with His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu as the Special Guest of Honour, while Justice Walter Onnoghen (rtd) and Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN), former Minister of Justice, will be Fathers of the Day, and Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, the former Head of Service, will be the Mother of the Day.
CROSSJOF Chairman, Mrs. Francisca Ogar, said journalists from Cross River State in Abuja are using the occasion to foster discussions on improving the state economically . She added that this year’s event is unique because the association will also launch its magazine, _The Panorama._
